This course focuses on screening and assessment procedures in substance abuse treatment. Topics covered include recognition of risk factors, screening and assessment instruments, drug toxicology testing procedures, interviewing skills and techniques, screening and assessment with special populations, ethnic/cultural issues, co-morbid psychiatric disorders, and screening and assessment competencies.
